I stumbled across this site Rome & Nolli It's like an educational site for students but has a very cool interactive map on it. You can see the different buildings and landmarks from through the ages and watch the evolution of the city. Loads of stuff to play around with
Not that any of that tells me where to wine & dine when I get there
Oh well back to the drawing board.

On a promise eh? well your lady sounds very patient :) but looks like you are plannin something special. i think its good to come across places to wine n dine as you potter round, discoverin stuff for yourself is so much more satisfying!
